The Rise and Fall of a Snowman
We have talked about building a snowman all Winter long.
As Spring approaches, we decided we better get out and get one built.
The snow was not really "snowman-snow", but we managed to get a little one made.

Party preparations

I decorated this present for my friend's birthday.

I won a prize for getting the second closest tail on the donkey.
Another Chinese New Year celebration
A group of families from this area who have adopted children from China
celebrates CNY every year at a local Chinese restaurant.
This year there was a "Kung Fu" demonstration.
Here are a few pictures from the party.

Opening my "red envelope".
I got money, a little car and some duplos.

I like my presents!

I thought I was not cooperating for this picture,
but Mama decided it was a nice way to show off the back of my outfit.

I ALMOST got out of this picture!!
The "lion head" for the lion dance didn't make it to the party,
so we tried to do a lion dance without it.
(Basically the kids parade around the restaurant in their Chinese outfits.)
I was the leader!
Group picture time!

This is only part of the group. I was happy to be "front and center".

A beautiful night sky!
(An astronomical image of a nebula??)

Fireworks! With the flash reflecting the snowflakes.
Makes for a pretty cool picture!
Happy year of the Rabbit!

Hi Joan! Good to hear from you! Thank you so much for sending the link of the beautiful girl playing the piano!! We just saw it for the first time about 2 days ago. My cousin posted it on facebook. It has given us so much joy and hope for Maylie. She is definitely inspired by this young lady as Maylie LOVES music! We found the music on line and one of my older daughters is learning to play it so she can teach Maylie someday.
ReplyDeleteLittle Gonzo looks so happy!!!!!! What an amazing transformation has taken place in his life. He looks so handsome and full of life! What a wonderful and blessed family you are!
With love,
Lydia
