OK, so I suspected that something was up.
Mama had been working on a very special cake,
the couch in the toy room got moved,
we bought a ton of hamburgers & hot dogs,
and when I came down the stairs this morning
Mama swooped me up and started singing to me.
She kissed my whole face and said she was so happy
to be my Mama and how proud she was of me.

I tell you, I was so excited I thought I could fly!
We ate breakfast, then Gail came to play.
I'm going to miss her coming every week for speech,
but she said she will come play sometimes.
After Gail left, Mama and I drove over to the preschool to drop off my homework.
Can you believe it, I haven't even started preschool yet, and I already have homework!
From there we zoomed to playgroup to see my friends,
we got a hamburger for lunch,
then went grocery shopping,
then home for a nap.

While I was taking my nap,
Mama finished making my cake.
Good thing she got a picture when she did
because it looked to me like my little car belonged on the cake.
So, I put it on and drove it across the cake.
Some little friends decided it needed some attention, too,
so by the time we sang and cut the cake, it didn't look quite like this.

I was a bit freaked out by all the people coming to my house.
OK, maybe a little more than a bit. I cried and cried whenever someone
came to the door. Then I just wanted to be held and cuddle with Mama, Daddy, or Gail.

I soon got the idea that my friends were there to play and have a good time,
so I joined in the fun.

Daddy grilled up a bunch of hamburgers and hot dogs.
We had hoped to have the party outside, but it was cold and rainy.
The inside party was fun.

After supper, everyone sang happy birthday to me
and we got to eat the cake.

I am so blessed to have such a nice group of friends.
I'm glad they could help me celebrate my birthday.
I wish Gramma, Grampa, Abuela, and some of my aunts, uncles,
and cousins could have come, but it's nice to have friends close by
for when relatives live too far away.

After everybody left,
Abuela and Juani called and I showed them my blue tongue
and told them about my party.
It was getting late, so we headed up to bed.
I was so wound up it took me a long time to fall asleep.

The next day, when Daddy got home from work,
I helped him put my new trike together.

With getting a bike and a trike,
I think they want me to learn how to pedal!
I'll get it one of these days.
I think I'm going to like being 3 years old.
