Aaah, July 4! Independence Day!
Thank you, God, for freedom.
I did my first sparklers
while waiting for fireworks to start.
I even did two at a time.
Talented, huh?
And then, we were off on our long journey.
In Michigan I got my own little map
so I could follow along and know where we were.
We crossed Mackinaw Bridge
but didn't have time to do much sightseeing.
Hopefully we can go back there sometime.
A long trip... a long nap with friends.
Our hotel had the best pool!
It had 3 waterslides! Since I love playing in the water,
I got my suit on and headed directly for the pool.
The next day we met Kate, her mom & two brothers
at a play place.
Kate was one of my best friends in China. She was adopted
two months after I was and now she lives in Wisconsin.
We had a great time together.

The next day was Cindy's wedding.
She was one of my mom's college roommates.
I liked blowing the bubbles.

And, it has a spare tire in the back.
I looove the spare tire in the back.
A little more swimming before leaving the hotel.
Then to the airport to head to Seattle,
or "See-daddle" as I like to call it.
This time I sat in my own seat and didn't mind the seatbelt.
Try as I did, I couldn't stay awake.
When we got to our friends' house, our dads had to go to a meeting
so Ellie and I made cards for our dads.

I became quite the photographer while in Seattle.
I took pictures of EVERYTHING!
(Even the bathroom)
We went to play at a park.
Had a lot of fun.
Picked flowers for our moms.
and played on this cool "zip-line" swing.
We finally got to meet the family who
played a big role in bringing me home from China.
We all had a lot of fun together.
I kind of liked the appetizers too.
Getting that cheese to spread on the cracker
was a bit tricky.
I was persistent, though, and became quite the cheese spreader.
I liked playing with the big girls.
They included me in their games.
Like my "A"? I did it all by myself.

A ride on the ferry to Bainbridge Island.

We went up to the top of the Space Needle.
Waiting for our dads.
A trip to the beach.
It was a little cold and rainy, but we still had fun.
We drove down to Oregon to see some relatives.
There we went to the Newport Aquarium.
We saw some beautiful shorelines.
Actually, I slept through this stop, but I like the pictures.
We went to the airport for lunch with Greg and Joan.
Greg showed us his plane.
If the weather had been nicer, he would have given us a ride.
I did get to sit in the pilot's seat though.

After our short visit in Oregon, we drove back to Seattle for one more day.
We drove out to Snoqualmie Falls.
Even though it was very foggy and drizzly that day, it was very pretty.
Silliness!
One thing I really wanted to do in Washington
was to play in the snow.
We didn't find a lot, but we did find enough to play in.
My snowman didn't survive.
Oh well...
It made three great snowballs!!

When we left Seattle, Dad headed off to England to speak there. Mama and I flew back to Wisconsin to get our car and take a road trip. We sent the camera with Dad, so we don't have any pictures of our road trip, but we stopped in Indianapolis and saw my cousins then drove to Kentucky to see some of Mama's friends from college. It was fun to see Lousetta again and have rice crispy bars with her. (She makes the best ones!) While we were at Missy's house I started my painting spree. Here's a picture of my first "masterpiece".
