Guille's sleeping, so this post is by his Mom. No pictures tonight... but a message too priceless to overlook.
Today was filled with ups & downs for Guille. This morning I had several things I needed to do and he played very quietly by himself while I worked on things. I had just checked "facebook" and told a friend how well he was doing and that I needed to go spend time with him. As soon as I sent that message he pushed some button on the computer and it all went blank! Yikes! Automatically, I said, "Oh, Guille!" The poor boy teared up... and so did I. We snuggled for a bit and didn't worry about the computer. (When I checked later, all was well with the computer.)
After snuggling for a while, we decided it was nice enough we could go outside and play for a while before lunch. We explored the acre of land that is overgrown. We played in the leaves. We played cars on the front porch. We had a great time.
We had a quick lunch then off for a nap. Guille had a hard time falling asleep... maybe because I was keyed up knowing that he needed to go to sleep "NOW" in order to get a decent nap in. I had a Dr. appt. and he only had a little over an hour to sleep... ok... less than an hour by the time he finally went to sleep. He doesn't take too kindly to being woken up, but was content to sit in his carseat for the close to one hour drive.
Guillermo went with us, to keep Guille company while I visited with the Dr. (Regular checkup... nothing to get excited about.) About 5 minutes after I left the waiting area I heard a wail. I knew it was Guille. 15 minutes later he was still crying, and I was still waiting for the Dr., so I went out to the waiting area to see if I could calm him down. Not much luck! Then the Dr. came so I handed him back to Guillermo and went about my business. An hour later he was still crying. His little face was so red. Poor little guy. When we left the Dr. office, he was fine. Hmmm.
It was getting late, so we stopped to get something to eat. He didn't eat much supper, which is VERY unusual for him. Hopefully he isn't coming down with something.
Once we got home, he played happily. He giggled so much. He was so happy. He likes to be HOME. I think it's his favorite place!!
Bedtime... first we must procrastinate and make sure every toy is in its place, the dirty socks are in the laundry basket and the water glass is filled. We read a Bible story then got into bed. He's at the point where he likes to lay in the twin bed for a while before going to his crib to sleep. We prayed and sang "Jesus loves me". He is learning the signs for "Jesus loves me" and often requests (using signs) the "Bible-Jesus song". Tonight was no different. We sang it 3 or 4 times, then tried to go to sleep.
OK... This part is why I decided to blog on this tonight... It is SOOOO PRECIOUS!
He lay there quietly for a couple of minutes, then tapped my arm and started signing "Jesus... Thank you!" He repeated the signs several times. So we prayed again and told Jesus Thank you for Guille, Mommy, Daddy, etc. Again he got quiet, then tapped my arm again. "Jesus, Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Then he sat up, looked at me and gave me the biggest grin, then lay back down and finally went to sleep.
Thank you, Jesus, for my precious son! What a priceless gift you have entrusted us with. I pray that he will always look to you and be thankful in his heart. And, in the words of my little son, who can't quite say them yet, "Jesus, THANK YOU, Thank you, Thank you!" Good night.
